Premium wedding photography and premium wedding albums.
DISCLOSURE: To be clear, I haven’t been given this album, I have paid for it. I have not been asked, paid or sponsored to write this post…this means I can write and say what I like about this product and give you my honest opinion.
As our business has grown and we have been honoured to win some awards, the number of companies who are willing to consider collaborating with us has increased. We have been supplying both Graphistudio and Queensberry albums for the past few years and we have good relationships with these companies. We work mostly with Queensberry and our partnership has been a pleasure since the off. Their products are widely considered as the world’s best. In fact, in spite of their higher cost, more and more of our couples choose Queensberry for their wedding album. We recently received this comment from the last couple who ordered their Queensberry album from us….
“Ian, we absolutely love the album, we can’t put it down! It is truly stunning. There could not be a better way to showcase your amazing images”
We understand that everyone has different a budget and that for some, although they would love to own a Queensberry, they just can’t afford it. For a while now, we have been looking for a suitable quality alternative to Queensberry. Over the past couple of weeks, we have been in discussions with a relatively new company, QT albums. Over several phone calls and emails, we have explained our desire to have a premium quality product at a different price point to Queensberry. If QT albums could provide this product, then we would be very happy to partner with them. Pawel, from QT albums assured us that they can produce a product that would meet our standards and those of our clients. As they say, the proof of the pudding and all that, so we went ahead and ordered a sample. As we all know, there can be a huge difference to what something looks like on a website and what it feels like in the hand. I was determined to keep an open mind and to reserve judgement till I actually had hold of the album. The team at QT albums pulled out all the stops to design, produce and ship the album to me within a week so I could take it to an open evening at The West Tower. the venue we work at the most.
Well it arrived exactly on time, and from the moment you open the outer box, you know you are handling a top quality product. The album is presented in a lovely textured outer box which both looks and feels great
Inside, you find some nice touches like a small bag with a pair of white gloves and a slip with the signature of the person who checked and packed your album, I love these touches.
The album is inside a heavy weight cotton/ canvas slip case which you ease out of the box with the enclosed ribbon..
I’d chosen a 12×12 inch album in green leather with my name laser etched into the cover. the craftsmanship is evident everywhere you look and touch and the laser etching is utterly precise.
However, as we know, all this is great, but an album is ALL about the images, right? Well, I have to admit to being blown away by the quality of the printing in this product. The colour is perfectly consistent with my monitor and the black and white images are excellent with lots of tones and plenty of fine detail in the shadow areas like hair, suit creases and ties etc. It’s difficult to show this on screen but here are a few examples anyway…
I have to admit to being completely bowled over, both by the workmanship, the printing and also the companies desire to provide excellent service. I will be meeting with their representative later in October to formalize our partnership together with QT albums. They have asked for some photographer input on the development of their new range. It promises to be excellent and I’m really excited that we have been asked to be a part of it.
