Sandhole Oak Barn wedding photography
This was our first time shooting Sandhole Oak Barn wedding photography. It is one of Cheshire’s most popular wedding venues. It’s easy to see why Tom and Shona loved it so much. Located in 400 acres of beautiful rolling Cheshire, Sandhole Oak Barn is barn conversion, designed specifically for weddings. From the moment you arrive, everything at Sandhole is geared towards making wedding days absolutely perfect.
I was delighted when Shona got in touch around 18 months ago to discuss us shooting her wedding to Tom. Shona is a good friend of ours so it was extra special being able to cover her wedding. We passionately believe in natural and unobtrusive wedding photography. Weddings are about people, emotions and stories. We promise we won’t turn your wedding into a photoshoot and take over you day! We joined both Shona and Tom for their preparations before heading off to the ceremony at St Mary’s church in Northwich. This was a beautiful church with a friendly and welcoming vicar!
Portraits, sheep and dancing!
We shot a few formal portraits on the steps of the church before we made our was to Sandhole. Just after we got there, we spent around 15 minutes shooting some stunning portriats of Tom and Shona. The barn is surrounded by fields and a beautiful lake. So finding places to shoot was easy! We were even joined by some sheep !
Tom and Shona had also hired a videographer for the day, and it was great to work with him. He wanted to take Tom and Shona off for a few sequences in the fields around the venue and asked if I would tag along to help with some poses etc….this was a fab 15 minutes and I’m sure the footage will be great. Epecially as they spent a few minutes going over their first dance steps!
Shona, Tom and horses. A great combination!
Now Shona is a real animal lover and has ridden and owned horses throughout her life. As there were some horses in the field nearby, they decided that they would go over to them. They were calling the horses over, and much to my amusement, the horses ignored Shona and went straight over to Tom! That still makes me laugh! Sorry Sho!! You’ll see some photographic evidence of that below!
Anyway, here are some shots from a truly wonderful day!
