Wedding photography at Blundell Hill Golf Club
We shot Joel and Steph’s wedding as our last wedding of 2013, on 28th December. It was a brilliant day with a tangible sense of love and family along with some amazing singing! The ceremony was at Bethel Church which brought back lots of memories for Hazel and I as we often visited there when we were younger! There was a Girl’s Brigade guard of honour for the arrival of the bride, a lovely tea and mince pie reception immediately after the service followed by the reception at Blundell Hill Golf Club.
There was some mixed weather with times of very low light, some rain and even some glorious sunshine! Fortunately, the weather didn’t affect the wedding in any way apart from guests wanting to stay in from the cold! We managed a portrait session with Joel and Steph just as the sun was setting..in spite of the cold, they did amazingly well and we got some great shots!
The speeches were funny, especially the Best Man’s song to the groom…he was backed by holding his mobile phone next to the mic and sang Adelle’s “Someone like You”
After some practice, I tried a slightly different way of shooting the first dance shots which I really like and we also continued to use the Fuji X cameras more and more. I will post my thoughts about this in the next couple of weeks…
