Oh Me Oh My wedding photography
Creative, natural, and beautiful. Brendan and Laura’s Oh Me Oh My wedding photography by Liverpool wedding photographer Ian MacMichael. I first met Laura and Brendan over a year ago and we got on well right from the start. We knew this was going to be a fab day with these guys.
Hazel joined Laura and her party at the Alicia hotel for the bridal preparations. I was with Brendan and his small party at Brendan and Laura’s apartment. This was in the old boarding wing of the famous Liverpool Bluecoat School. This was great for me as it is where I went to school, though not as a border!
Natural Wedding Photography
The ceremony was at St Charles’ Church on Aigburth Road. we have worked here a few times and the Priests are always really great to work with. As usual, we stayed out of the way and captured all the emotion of the Nuptial Mass in a totally natural way. Brendan and Laura didn’t want many group shots, which was great. This left us free to photograph people without direction or intervention, the best way to get emotionally meaningful images. All the guests jumped on a double-decker bus and headed into Liverpool City Centre for the reception at OhMe Oh My.
Brendan and Laura wanted to shoot some portraits in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter. We met them on Hope Street, the one with a cathedral at each end! We spent about 15 minutes shooting some uber-cool portraits before joining the rest of the guests at Oh Me Oh My.
Speeches, Reception, and Dancing!
As soon as we arrived at Oh Me Oh My, we went straight to the rooftop terrace. Brendan and Laura were joined by the bridesmaids and we did a couple of quick shots up there in what felt like a force 8 gale! It was a good laugh though and they all enjoyed it!
It was then time for the speeches which were heartfelt and funny! While the guests enjoyed their meal, I was well looked after by the staff and enjoyed my own lovely meal. I then set up for the first dance and before I knew it, the band was ready! It was time to cut the cake, have the first dance and get on with the party!
Brendan and Laura weren’t left on their own for long during the first dance. In a matter of minutes, lots of people were u enjoying themselves, some of them may be a little too much!
Here are a few shots from what was a really brilliant day, we hope you enjoy them!
