West Tower wedding photography, Rachael and Michael’s wedding.

West Tower Wedding photography.

West Tower wedding photography….it started off as a very rainy day a couple of weeks ago as we headed off to shoot Rachael and Michael’s wedding. Hazel was off to Rachael’s mum and dad’s to cover the bridal party preparations while I went to Ormskirk to the groom’s party. The traffic on the way was awful, I took  me about 25 mins to go around 200 metres!! I ended up driving the last 20 metres on the pavement!

To add to the stress, the VW camper that was due to pick the broom and his party up was also stuck in the traffic so didn’t arrive in time. The groom and his ushers and Best Man walked to the church which was only about 5 mins away, I gave the groom’s mum a lift and his dad waited for the car and came in that!

Anyway, after all that, the weather had cleared up. The ceremony was at Emmanuel Church,  and the Vicar was absolutely brilliant. I had a little chat to him when I arrived and he was happy for us to be in the best place for images. This was really refreshing as a lot of churches can take a little persuading when it comes to photographing weddings and some can be, unfortunately, very uncooperative. It was great to find that Dominic from Impressions Videography was there too. We have worked with Dominic a few times now and it’s always very easy to work with him and we try to help each other out as much as possible.

After the ceremony, we headed outside to the steps of the church for around 15 minutes for the group shots. We are absolutely committed to do the formal shots and efficiently as possible and also with a bit of humour to help things along. Actually, as we finished the group shots, one of the guests came up and said the way we handled the group shots was amazing and could she have our number for her wedding, always a nice compliment!

We then made our way to the fabulous West Tower, which, as always, looked amazing, especially as it had the Flowerstyle By Laurie treatment…simple gorgeous as usual Laurie! We did some portraits of Rachael and Michael before the wedding breakfast and the speeches.

After the meal, we nipped outside again and did a few more portraits before the evening reception got under way, all under the expert guidance of West Tower’s resident DJ and MC Steve Mitchell, brilliant as usual.

Here is a selection of images from this really great day….can’t wait for Rachael and Michael to see the complete collection…..
