Wrenbury Hall wedding photographer – Ian MacMichael photography
This was our first time as Wrenbury Hall Wedding Photographers, and it hopefully will not be the last! We had an amazing day with Nick and Jen and all their friends and family. They got in touch after seeing us work at their friend’s wedding a couple of years back.
It was clear from our first meeting that our natural and documentary approach to wedding photography was exactly what they wanted for their wedding. Nick and Jen kept us up to date with their plans and ideas in the run up to the day. This included comprehensive breakdown of the day and the group shots they wanted. This was really helpful and it means that we know the times and structure we are working in. We can then concentrate on capturing all those intimate moments, that generally go unnoticed, but which are the essence of a wedding day.
Hazel spent the morning at Jen’s dad’s house with Jen and her party. I headed to the quirky but lovely Brook Meadow Hotel to meet Nick and the groomsmen.
It was only a short journey to the church for the ceremony. During the signing of the register, the guests were treated to some ace singing from a choir of Nick and Jen’s friends! We all then made our way to Wrenbury Hall for the rest of the celebrations. Wrenbury Hall is a stunning venue for a wedding gorgeous grounds, lots of space and plenty of different areas for us to make the most of.
By the time we arrived at Wrenbury Hall, it was a beautifully warm summer afternoon! As the guests arrived, they were greeted with champagne and canapes on the immaculate front lawn of the Hall. Peter, who was the MC, gave us a very warm welcome and also made sure we had plenty of drinks in the heat! There was no pressure from the venue to rush or fit in with them at all. This was great as we had completed the group shots at the church. This meant that we had plenty of time to focus on capturing people enjoying the day together in our natural and unobtrusive way.
Following some funny and heartfelt speeches, the room was turned around for the evening celebrations. Outside, there was probably the most beautiful evening sunlight we have ever seen at a wedding. We suggested to Nick and Jen that this was too good to miss! We spent around 10-15 minutes shooting some portraits in this incredible light. As always, the quality of light is fleeting and it quickly started to fade. Thankfully, but we had already used the best of it!
Here is a selection of images from the day.
